Dear citizen, Neighbourhood Sergeant Adam Greenaway and the team would like to update you in relation to activities carried out over the last week. We have posted a number of highlights from the week via our X account @AldridgeWMP. ✅ Targeted patrols and engagement around your neighbourhoods ✅ Earlier this week the team attended Alrewych Court in Aldridge to engage with staff, residents and other members of the public attending the location. Officers are utilising local services and hubs to engage and work remotely in areas to provide reassurance, visibility and be accessible to speak to about any issues or concerns. We followed this up mid week with engagement at a local school to speak to youngsters about police so they could learn more about personal safety and understanding the role of police in the community. There were lots of excited and smiley faces, especially when they got to try on uniform and go inside the police vehicle. Thank you to staff for their support. Later during the week officers attended the Aldridge Village Partnership meeting with local businesses and community groups who work together to keep Aldridge safe, vibrant and welcoming for all. Planning has begun ready for the festive period. Officers carried out foot patrols with one of our fantastic local Street Watch groups around the Shire Ridge area of Walsall Wood where focus is on being proud of where you live and looking out for suspicious activity, noting any issues or concerns as the darker nights are drawing in. Targeted visible presence was carried out around anti-social behaviour hotspot area Oak Park and the wider locations surrounding. Engagement was carried out with local businesses in the vicinity. The Street watch groups are committed to their areas, like all street watch groups are for their own areas across West Midlands, and are knowledgeable about where they live and in their positive approach about caring about their local community. A number of targeted patrols were carried out to deter and prevent ASB issues around the areas of Netherhall Avenue estate (former St Margaret's site), Collingwood Drive and Hillingford Avenue in Pheasey following reports of youth ASB. We are aware that the Netherhall estate is a vast area and plagued by off road vehicles. Local police and partners are currently working together to tackle issues and concerns at this location with meetings and site visits carried out to discuss matters following reported damage in the area. A number of vehicles have been seized from around the Aldridge area this week after officers have proactively patrolled highways daytime and evenings. These vehicles were spotted by officers being driven illegally, with a number of traffic reports issued for matters such as no insurance, no MOT, disqualified from driving, no tax and an expired driving licence. Please visit our social media X page: @AldridgeWMP for images and information. Locations include Barr Beacon, Doe Bank Lane, Northgate and Longwood Lane. Officers have also worked in partnership with Walsall Housing Group visiting a number of properties relating to matters of alleged drug use, antisocial behaviour and noise nuisance. A number of businesses across the area have also been visited and spoken with staff and security at locations to provide crime prevention advice and deter business crime across all of our neighbourhood ward areas. Thank you to all residents for their continued support.
